Mr Madhukar Talwalkar, a scion of fitness in India and a legend in Indian Bodybuilding visited Varanasi for the Mega Merger of Body Building Federations. Mr Talwalkar also spared some time visit to Varanasi’s health and fitness landmark – Bob’s Gym and had a free-wheeling interaction with our trainers. Spending time with a man who has been the backbone of the fitness industry in India for many decades now, was an energy boost for out trainers, who were left feeling highly motivated and charged up.

Bodybuilding enthusiasts of India have a reason to rejoice. The two entities that hitherto managed Indian physique sports independently have merged! Datuk Paul Chua (Secretary General,WBPF & ABBF) and Christina Y. Kam (Executive Director, ABBF) led the meeting. Mr Madhukar Talwalkar, a scion of fitness in India and a legend in Indian Bodybuilding, was also present. This meeting was attended by all existing federations in India. Dr. Baba Madhok was elected as the President of the merged body building federations now to be known as ”Indian Body Builders Federation“. Congratulations and good luck to all!

On 2nd March, Wong Hong international bodybuilder and World Champion landed in India. The gentle giant was warmly welcomed by Indian newspapers, banners and hoardings. His previous visit in September 2010 had been a roaring success – the return journey was to continue the training of bodybuilders and sports / fitness enthusiasts whom he trained during the first visit.

At the New Delhi Airport, the bodybuilding community gave a hero’s welcome to Wong Hong. It is a widely acknowledged fact that know his expert training and counseling has got India TWO Gold Medals during the WBPF World Bodybuilding Championships 2010 in Varanasi, India. He has created history by guiding us to victory indeed. This is the first time that India has won two Gold Medals at the World Championship level.

From his arrival till the end of his on the 11th of March 2011, Wong Hong toured different cities and gyms. He offered personal training to a vast number of bodybuilders and fitness freaks, proving himself a true ambassador of the bodybuilding sports. In all, he visited five cities and trained over a hundred bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts. In this regard, the Indian Bodybuilding Federation and the community will always be indebted to the Father of Bodybuilding, Datuk Paul Chua (Secretary General of ABBF & WBPF) and Ms. Christina Y Kam (Executive Director of WBPF & ABBF) for sponsoring Wong Hong’s trip to India coordinating the logistics for it.
